To All Lamar University Online Students
We want you to know that whether you have been directly affected by Hurricane Harvey or been isolated due to street and road closures, that we are concerned about your safety, health and welfare. As an Academic Community, we are also dedicated to ensure that you get the education and experiences that accompany attending Lamar University. To that end, we are planning to modify our calendars to accommodate your educational and learning needs.
Please be aware that we will be notifying you of the calendar changes and then your faculty members will be working to change due dates, assignments, etc. as needed. Notify your course professors as soon as possible with any accommodations you made as you and your family seek to recover from this unprecedented storm.

8-Week Online Programs
Our thoughts and prayers are with each of you, your families, the Texas School Districts and communities impacted by this weather event. We are committed to help in anyway we can.
Due to Hurricane Harvey, the start of the fall 2017 semester has been delayed. As many of our students live and work in areas impacted by this severe weather system, we are committed to accommodating our collective community. The fall semester will be completed in its entirety once we commence classes and make final arrangements for covering all of the necessary course material. All classes and other academic events and activities are cancelled through Tuesday (8-29). This includes all face-to-face and online classes. Registration-related activities will be extended accordingly to accommodate enrollment and payment issues.
University officials are watching the storm system closely and will issue official announcements about any other delays affecting the start of the fall semester as soon as possible. Student and employee safety will be paramount in these decisions.
As you monitor the ongoing situation, please access Lamar’s website (www.lamar.edu), official social media sites, and ConnectEd about the start of the fall semester. We look forward to sunshine and the start of a successful fall semester.
